Normally people say to learn any musical instruments you will have to start young but that is not true at all it is never too late to learn any instrument. If you are a new starter and learning to play pianos , I recommend getting tuitions from an expert rather than trying to learn it through online resources – the best thing about learning from an expert is you won’t have to buy your own gear untill you are good and when you know a great deal about the instrument you will know where to get a good deal from – saves a lot of money. As you are a new starter it is hard for you to understand the keys/codes so it is wise for someone who is an expert to be there and hold your hand till you get used to the codes.

First thing you need to decide is whether to start learning on digital piano or acoustic piano. Many experts have said that acoustic are always the best way to start no matter which musical instrument you are learning. This is simply because it generates the original sound. Acoustic pianos have heavy key touch so playing this regularly will make it easier for you to play light touch piano such as keyboard pianos. The only negative thin I can think about an acoustic piano is the size, whether you have enough space in your house to fit one.

If you start with digital pianos you will find it difficult to play acoustic pianos because of its heavy keys.

An acoustic piano have a very long life compare to digital pianos and if something does go wrong in a digital piano then repairing can be very expensive. Digital pianos are mostly used by recording artists and musicians. They can use it to create background music and do all sort of other things.

I was 4 years when I started to play the piano. I was given an acoustic piano to start on and after 23 years of playing acoustic I can definitely say that it generates a clear and original sound that the digital piano won’t be able to generate, for me acoustic sound is like an art. It doesn’t matter if you are playing acoustic guitars or acoustic pianos it’s never too late to start.

It all depends on why you are learning to play the piano. Is it to educate your children? Is it just to mock about? Is it because you love music?
